ABC Renews Six Shows for Another Fall Season

ABC has just announced that it will be early-renewing some of it's hit shows for seasons this fall. On the list are it's top performers, Grey's Anatomy and Modern Family. Here's a list of who else made the cut:
- Cougar Town: The Courtney Cox comedy performs well after it's Modern Family lead-in, and the critics are starting to like it this season.
The MiddleThis comedy does extremely well considering that it starts out Comedy Wednesday.
- Private Practice: Grey's Anatomy's successful spin-off doesn't do as good as it's parent show, but does good enough.
- Castle: It's ratings have barely slipped since it's premiere, so keep expecting it to get renewed every time.
Now that you've seen who made the list, you're probably wondering why some others didn't. For example, Desperate Housewives is expected to return, but many of the actresses' contracts are up for renewal, so it will take longer to confirm it's return than usual.
Many rumors have been floating around that Brothers & Sisters' ratings may be too low for the pricey comedy. So ABC will most likely wait and see how many comedy pilots they have for this fall before making a final decision.
Also, V will most likely be renewed. But since it just returned, ABC will wait to get more solid data on the ratings before announcing it's renewal.
And as for Detroit 1-8-7 and No Ordinary Family, they have good ratings, and will most likely be renewed before the long-off renewal deadline in May.
